Gabe advises companies in the animal health, healthcare, and insurance industries, providing tailored legal solutions to support their business operations and to meet their strategic objectives.

Gabe has extensive experience in regulatory matters, corporate governance, and mergers and acquisitions. He has established long-term relationships within the industry and with his clients, allowing him to understand the regulatory landscape and how navigate the legal complexities to achieve business goals. Gabe applies his knowledge of these highly regulated industries to create systems and efficiencies to support his clients’ legal needs, from small projects to large, complex transactions.

Gabe guides entities in the animal health industry through strategic growth initiatives, including counseling on significant merger and acquisition activity. He also oversees attorney teams for his industry clients that support areas such as real estate, employment, tax, and intellectual property. Gabe serves as the co-leader of the firm’s Pet Care Industry Group.

In addition, Gabe is a member of the Federation of Regulatory Counsel, the only national association of attorneys who devote at least 50% of their practice to insurance regulatory matters.

  • Represents Blue Cross of Idaho in corporate governance, structuring strategic initiatives, executive employment, health care reform, insurance regulatory matters, mergers and acquisitions, and policyholder relations.

  • Represented Blue Cross of Idaho in its acquisition of a 40% interest in Primary Health Medical Group, an urgent care and primary care practice group with 20 clinic locations in the Boise area.

  • Counseled on the design and implementation of a policy for coverage of COVID-19 testing to comply with the coverage mandate in the CARES Act.
  • Negotiated the buyout of a founding member of a rapidly growing, family-owned hospice provider in transaction valued at $7,000,000.
  • Represented national insurance companies to resolve form filing objections by the Idaho Department of Insurance.
  • Represented insurance brokers and third-party administrators in resolving adverse licensing actions taken by the Idaho Department of Insurance.
  • Provides general corporate counsel for an Idaho-based national supplier of building materials, advising on corporate governance and shareholder buyouts for departing executives and board members.

  • Provides general corporate counsel to an Idaho-based underground mining and metals company.

  • Represented Destination Pet in its $45 million acquisition of the assets of Veterinary Care, Inc (d/b/a VitalPet) in administered under Section 363 of the Bankruptcy Code.
  • Represented Destination Pet in its $70 million stock sale to L1 Health.

  • Represented Destination Pet in the acquisition of 5 integrated pet care and veterinary centers in Arizona operating under the tradename "Exceptional Pets."
  • Represented Destination Pet nationwide in multiple acquisitions of 1 or 2 site veterinary clinics or animal care centers.
  • Represented Destination Pet nationwide in the establishment of affiliated professional veterinary corporations to comply with state rules on the corporate practice of veterinary medicine.
