Colin focuses his practice on state and local taxation, federal tax controversy, federal and state income tax, and tax-exempt entities, including tax compliance and tax litigation at the state and federal levels.
He advises clients on a variety of business tax decisions, such as those involving sales and use tax considerations for asset transactions, structure and formation of tax-exempt entities, federal transfer pricing issues involving cost sharing arrangements between multi-national corporations, federal and state income tax penalty abatement, analysis of payroll compliance issues and correction steps, state and local voluntary compliance regimes, and state property tax assessments. Colin also has experience in matters involving federal and state income taxation of partnerships and other pass-through entities.
Before joining Holland & Hart, Colin worked as an Appellate Law Clerk for Judge Anthony J. Navarro of the Colorado Court of Appeals, drafting civil and criminal judicial opinions.
