Stephen leverages 15 years in construction management when counseling clients through all phases of construction, including contract drafting, negotiations, and resolving disputes.
Stephen has worked on large design-build projects, public works projects, smaller-scale commercial projects, and multi-family projects. Collaborating with clients, he has negotiated contracts, and litigated differing site condition claims, construction defect claims, acceleration and delay claims, and breach of contract disputes.
Clients turn to Stephen for support through project kickoff, design, construction, mediation, arbitration, litigation, and settlement. He has experience with jury trials and appeals.
Prior to becoming an attorney, Stephen worked in various project management and project engineer roles with large civil, building, and development companies in Las Vegas, Salt Lake City, and Denver. This experience gave Stephen valuable perspectives of the construction process from the start of a project through completion, and across a range of projects.
Stephen chairs the REConFB practice group's AI Taskforce. He leverages AI tools and platforms to deliver better agreements, faster, and at lower cost to his clients.
Stephen served as a law clerk to Judge Kristina Pickering of the Nevada Supreme Court and worked as a legal extern for Judge Elizabeth Gonzalez of the Nevada Eighth Judicial District Court and Judge James C. Mahan of the US District Court for the District of Nevada.
