Robert Jensen draws upon his deep connections gained through decades of active participation in the Wyoming business community.

As a non-lawyer government affairs professional, Robert provides our Cheyenne and Wyoming clients with comprehensive governmental affairs services.

Robert served as both COO and CEO of the Wyoming Business Council between 2004 and 2014, where he successfully oversaw the effort to attach technology companies to Wyoming. His experience includes a 27-year career with Fleischli Oil Company, where he served as president prior to selling the company in 1997. He was also a partner in the 2001 renovation of the Historic Plains Hotel in Cheyenne and most recently a business advisor and consultant working with the Mick McMurry family portfolio of business interests in Southeast Wyoming and Northern Colorado.

Representative Matters
  • Led in the development of The Alliance of Wyoming Manufacturers, a non-profit industry association that provides a collective voice for Wyoming Manufacturing Industry in legislative and regulatory matters. The Alliance was successful in lobbying for the defeat of proposed legislation to increase the sales tax on manufacturers equipment purchases.

Civic Development
  • Led the committee responsible for oversight and implementation of the redevelopment plan of the historic Union Pacific Depot and Cheyenne Depot Plaza in downtown Cheyenne

  • Partner in the 2001 renovation of the Historic Plains Hotel

  • Worked with Wyoming State Treasurer’s Office and the Wyoming Wool Growers Association to establish what is now the Mountain States Lamb Cooperative

Wyoming Business Council
  • Led the Wyoming Business Council (WBC) team contributing to the development and expansion of the technology sector in Wyoming including involvement in developing incentive programs leading to:

    • Expansion of National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) to Wyoming with the NCAR-Wyoming Supercomputing Center 
    • Recruitment to Wyoming of Microsoft Corporation data center complex
    • Growth and expansion to Wyoming of Green House Data
  • Led WBC teams, in collaboration with local government leadership, in successful implementation of private-public community infrastructure investments throughout Wyoming communities, resulting in significant increases in private sector capital investment, business growth, and job creation
