Holland & Hart Represents Stillwater Mining Company in Acquisition by Sibanye

Holland & Hart represented Colorado-based client Stillwater Mining Company, the only U.S. miner of platinum group metals (PGMs) and the largest primary producer of PGMs outside of South Africa and the Russian Federation, in connection with its acquisition by South African gold mining company Sibanye Gold, for an all-cash transaction of $2.2 billion. The deal will make Sibanye the third largest producer of palladium and the fourth largest platinum metal groups miner.

Holland & Hart’s deal team worked as co-counsel with Jones Day. The Holland & Hart team was led by Denver partner Lucy Stark and also included Michael Dill, Chris Myers, Elizabeth Nedrow, Kevin Selzer, Jason Ritchie, Tim Mahon, and Nathan Davis.
