Holland & Hart Announces Election of 15 New Partners in 2021

DENVER (Jan. 1, 2021) – Holland & Hart LLP is pleased to announce that 15 attorneys have been elected to the firm’s partnership, effective January 1, 2021.

“These new partners reflect the firm’s ongoing commitment to support and develop exceptional talent, representing a mix of lawyers who began their careers at Holland & Hart and those who joined the firm as laterals,” said Chris Balch, firm chair. “They are the next generation of lawyers helping the firm to reinvent how we do business, cultivating new models of legal service that drive client success.”

Serving clients in a range of practice areas and industries across the firm’s footprint, the newly elected partners are:

Amos Barclay – Boulder | Mergers and Acquisitions; Venture Capital

Amos advises companies of all sizes, from small start-ups and venture-backed growth stage companies to public companies in the Fortune 500. His practice focuses on mergers, acquisitions, tender offers, and other strategic exit opportunities. He also assists clients with venture capital financing and strategic growth, as well as corporate structure and governance.

Brad Williams – Denver | Labor and Employment Litigation

Brad litigates labor and employment disputes on behalf of employers before administrative agencies and state and federal courts. In addition to his employment-related work, Brad also arbitrates labor grievances, defends unfair labor practice charges, and counsels employers on traditional labor law matters.

Chris Myers – Las Vegas | Corporate

Chris advises companies at all stages of growth, helping them successfully raise capital, complete acquisitions and divestitures, and comply with regulatory requirements. He also assists institutional investors in making private fund investments and counsels investment advisers in the formation and operation of private investment funds.

Claire Rosston – Boise | Corporate

Claire represents buyers and sellers in asset and equity acquisitions, with significant experience in the animal healthcare industry. She also assists clients with corporate governance, operational contracts, as well as business formation, restructuring, and disputes.

Engels Tejeda – Salt Lake City | Commercial Litigation; Bankruptcy; Cybersecurity

Engels counsels clients on a broad range of commercial disputes, from cybersecurity and data breach defense to matters under the Bankruptcy Code, the Uniform Commercial Code, and consumer protection statutes. He works with clients in the renewable energy, rooftop solar, and banking and finance industries.

Jeremy Ben Merkelson – Washington, D.C. | Labor and Employment

Jeremy collaborates with public and private companies, healthcare organizations, trade associations, and non-profits to solve their most complex employment-related problems. Jeremy has substantial first-chair trial experience in state and federal courts, administrative proceedings, and arbitrations throughout the U.S. He also advises on employment aspects of M&A deals.

Jordan Bunch – Boulder | Real Estate Development and Finance

Jordan represents clients in a wide range of complex real estate transactions including acquisition, development, leasing, land use, licensing, renewable energy, and affordable housing. Her extensive leasing practice includes ground leasing in addition to traditional office and retail leases.

Kevin McAdam – Denver | Commercial Litigation

Kevin represents individuals and corporations in federal and state courts and before international arbitration tribunals. His practice focuses on complex commercial disputes in the areas of financial services, securities, and commercial real estate. Kevin chairs the firm’s Summer Clerk Committee.

Kevin Selzer – Denver | Employee Benefits and Executive Compensation

Kevin counsels clients on a range of employee benefit matters, including the design and implementation of qualified retirement plans, health and welfare plans, and equity compensation arrangements. He advises clients on executive compensation issues and helps employers ensure compliance with the Internal Revenue Code, ERISA, and related laws.

Matt Harvey – Boise | Patent Prosecution, Counseling, and Opinions

Matt focuses his practice on patent prosecution, patent analysis, and IP due diligence matters across electrical engineering and standards-essential technologies. He drafts and prosecutes patent applications to protect the innovations of sophisticated technology companies within the electronics, software, and wireless telecommunications industries.

Nathan Mutter – Boulder | Patent Prosecution, Counseling, and Opinions

Nathan focuses on patent prosecution and counseling for sophisticated clients with international IP portfolios spanning wireless communications, cloud infrastructure, artificial intelligence, and medical device technologies. Advising on a range of IP due diligence and clearance projects, he helps clients navigate IP issues related to acquisitions, product development and launch, and defensive strategies.

Paul Swanson – Denver | Commercial Litigation; Antitrust and Trade Regulation

Paul’s commercial litigation practice focuses on complex contract and antitrust disputes. With a client base in technology and logistics, Paul manages state and federal lawsuits and arbitration for Fortune 500 companies and regional clients. He engages in all stages of dispute-resolution, from pre-litigation assessment and negotiation to trial and appeal.

Rachel Carnaggio – Denver | Patent Prosecution, Counseling, and Opinions

Rachel’s dual experience as a molecular and cellular biologist and intellectual property attorney bring unique value to her clients in the life sciences industry. She counsels clients in the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, medical device, and digital health sectors, helping clients develop protective strategies, including creating, prosecuting, managing, and enforcing intellectual property rights.

Robert Ayers – Jackson | Environmental Health and Safety

Robert represents clients in environmental and workplace safety matters, including emergency response, internal investigations, compliance counseling, regulatory enforcement, and civil litigation. He has worked on some of the largest workplace incidents in the country and frequently counsels clients through investigations by government agencies, including OSHA, CSB, EPA, MSHA, and PHMSA.

Teague Donahey – Boise | Intellectual Property

Teague litigates intellectual property matters and other complex business disputes for sophisticated technology companies in federal and state courts and the ITC and TTAB. He also provides pragmatic counsel to emerging businesses seeking strategies to protect and enforce intellectual property rights or navigate disputes.
