Bryce Alstead assists clients with the successful development of a wide range of energy and infrastructure projects throughout Nevada and the Mountain West.

His clients include major renewable energy developers, mining companies, and water purveyors.

Project Development.  Bryce provides clients with innovative counsel in all aspects of complex energy and infrastructure project development, finance, site acquisition, and permitting. He has served as lead counsel in the development, financing, acquisition, and sale of solar and geothermal projects ranging from 900kV to 255 MW.

Project Finance. Bryce frequently acts as Nevada counsel for developers, lenders, and equity investors in large project finance transactions, including construction and term financing for solar, geothermal, and transmission projects.

Real Estate and Water Rights. Bryce also works closely with clients in the areas of municipal law and government affairs, water rights acquisitions and permitting, and industrial real estate development and finance.

Transactional Matters
  • Lead Nevada counsel on multiple project financings (construction, term, and portfolio) for solar, geothermal, and transmission projects.

  • Lead Nevada counsel in the acquisition and sale of numerous solar and geothermal projects (asset and equity deals).

  • Lead Nevada counsel for all real estate, construction, and administrative law matters for close to ten utility-scale solar generation facilities.

  • Lead U.S. real estate counsel for an international geothermal energy company.

  • Lead U.S. real estate counsel for an international solar energy developer.

  • Lead Nevada real estate counsel on the acquisition of a natural gas-fired generation facility.

  • Lead Nevada real estate counsel to the developers of three major high-voltage transmission lines.

  • Lead counsel on the sale of a Nevada oil refinery and the subsequent acquisition of a security interest in an Ohio oil refinery.

  • Lead Nevada counsel to the developer of a  state-wide  fiber optics network.

  • Outside real estate counsel to a major governmental water purveyor

  • Lead counsel on multiple land and water acquisitions in northern and southern Nevada, including purchases in excess of ten million dollars.

  • Performed due diligence and title work for numerous energy generation and transmission projects, oil and gas and mining projects, as well as large commercial and industrial developments.

Land Use and Administrative Law Matters
  • Obtained approval of a 250-MW municipal solar generation lease, a related development agreement and water contract, and all associated entitlements for an operational project in southern Nevada.
  • Obtained approval of a 150-MW municipal solar generation lease, a related development agreement and water contract, and all associated entitlements for an operational project in southern Nevada.

  • Obtained approval of a 94-MW municipal solar generation lease, a related development agreement and water contract, and all associated entitlements for an operation project in southern Nevada.

  • Obtained approvals of Nevada State Office of Energy tax abatement agreements for utility-scale solar energy generating facilities.

  • Obtained approval of a municipal lease for a natural gas-fired peaker facility and its related easements and water contract.

  • Obtained a highly contested special use permit and related air quality permit tripling the capacity of an oil refinery, and successfully defended against state and county administrative appeals of each permit.

  • Successfully defended an energy client before the State Environmental Commission on matters related to two separate air quality permit appeals.

  • Obtained a special use permit for the expansion of a diatomaceous earth processing facility located within municipal limits.

  • Obtained six highly contested and appealed entitlements, including zoning changes, special use permits, and variances, for a proposed resort-casino project.

  • Obtained approval for a 600-plus acre mixed-use development.
