Holland & Hart has a longstanding history of forging a work environment where employees thrive. In the mid-1980s, it was one of the first firms in Colorado to adopt a maternity leave policy providing up to six months’ leave, revolutionary at the time. (Today, the firm provides parental leave to all qualifying employees, regardless of gender.) The firm also pioneered reduced-work hours. Today, the Women’s Forum works to extend that history into the future, playing a crucial advisory role in researching, designing, and writing policies that intersect with women’s issues. It is comprised of women, men, and non-binary individuals.
The Women’s Forum doesn’t just focus on staying at the vanguard of policies that influence women’s lives. It also aims to foster community and professional support. The Women’s Forum holds events to support female lawyers in managing and advancing their careers, in which all employees are welcome to participate. These events aim to empower our lawyers to succeed with the firm structure but also within their own personal lives.
Policies driven by the Women’s Forum:
- Firm’s first Strategic Plan
- Attorney Mentoring program (includes all lawyers, men and women)
- Off Ramp/On Ramp Policy
- SMART billing program, which tracks non-billable administrative duties (sometimes called “office housework”)
- Telecommuting Policy
- Reduced Hours Policy
- Backup Childcare
- Coverage for fertility and family building services
