Maureen Witt Named Outstanding Woman In Business

DENVER (August 16, 2007) - Holland & Hart partner Maureen Witt was named the Outstanding Woman in Business in the Professional category by the Denver Business Journal.

Witt is a trial attorney in the firm's Denver Tech Center office. She has represented plaintiffs and defendants in cutting-edge, high-stakes complex litigation locally and nationally. She has handled significant cases of first impression and precedent-setting trials and appeals. Within Holland & Hart she has held several leadership roles, which include serving as one of the first female managing partners of a large U.S. law firm. She also has dedicated time to improving the legal profession as a whole. She helped increase juror's roles through the Colorado Jury Reform Committee, and she regularly teaches and mentors young lawyers through the National Institute of Trial Advocacy.

"Maureen exemplifies an outstanding lawyer, business woman, community leader, and parent," said Paul Phillips, chairman of Holland & Hart. "She is devoted to helping and serving others through her legal practice and civic activities and is truly deserving of this honor."

In 2006, the Denver Business Journal named Holland & Hart partner Betty Arkell as the Outstanding Woman in Business in the same category. The publication's annual event recognizes Denver's leading business women in a variety of industries. For a complete list of this year's winners and finalists, visit denver.bizjournals.com.
