Holland & Hart Announces 2023 LCLD Fellow and LCLD Pathfinders

Holland & Hart is proud to announce attorney Karina Sargsian has been selected to the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD)’s 2023 class of Fellows, and attorneys Charles Mao and Rocío Portela-Berríos have been selected to LCLD’s 2023 class of Pathfinders.

Founded in 2009, LCLD is an organization of more than 400 Members who serve as general counsel of major corporations or managing partners of the nation’s leading law firms. United by a spirit of activism and personal commitment, LCLD Members participate widely in the programs they've created—leading by example, taking action, and challenging the legal profession to prepare future generations of diverse talent for the highest positions of leadership.

Launched in 2011, the Fellows Program is year-long professional development program for high-potential, mid-career diverse attorneys who have demonstrated leadership skills, a commitment to diversity and inclusion, and impact on community. The program provides Fellows with the opportunity to learn from top leaders in the legal profession and experts in learning and development and executive coaching.

LCLD Fellow Karina Sargsian is a litigator in the Salt Lake City office, focusing her practice on all aspects of managing complex employment and commercial litigation in both state and federal courts. She provides advice and counsel to employers of all sizes on a full spectrum of both contentious and non-contentious employment matters.

The Pathfinder Program, designed for diverse, high-potential attorneys with less than eight years of practice, provides practical tools for developing and leveraging internal networks and relationship-building, foundational leadership skills, and career development strategies.

A real estate and finance attorney in the firm’s Las Vegas and Denver offices, LCLD Pathfinder Charles Mao counsels clients on a broad range of complex commercial real estate matters including the acquisition, disposition, financing, development, and leasing of commercial properties. He represents owners, developers, investors, financial institutions, landlords, tenants, and utility providers on real estate projects across the country.

LCLD Pathfinder Rocío Portela-Berríos supports clients in the energy and infrastructure industries on issues regarding project development and finance. Rocío's strong background in financing of energy, infrastructure, mining, and renewable energy projects in both the United States and Latin America, along with her fluency in Spanish, gives her valuable experience to offer clients a diverse approach to their projects.
