Social Media: Legal Issues

Yellowstone will be hosting a webinar, "Social Media: Legal Issues", September 12th at 2:00 to 3:00 pm MST presented by attorney Kim C. Stanger.

Social media has become a major part of our culture and an increasingly important tool for health care providers and their patients. Providers are using social media to communicate with patients, providers, employees, or the public at large. Whether permitted or not, employees may use social media at, or to comment about, work. Mr. Stanger will address the legal issues associated with social media, including:

  • Privacy risks and regulatory limitations
  • Security requirements
  • Employment liabilities
  • Malpractice concerns

Mr. Stanger will offer practical suggestions for an effective social media policy.

Participants will be able to:

  • Recognize liability and regulatory concerns surrounding social media.
  • Understand current laws and rules relevant to the use of social media.
  • Apply the rules and suggestions to minimize your risk surrounding social media.
