Scott Martinez Named to Election Reform Commission

DENVER (August 13, 2008) - Holland & Hart attorney Scott Martinez was appointed to the new Colorado Election Reform Commission by Gov. Bill Ritter on Monday. The 11-member commission was created by the legislature to study election issues, including the various voting systems, and to draft a report of findings and recommendations to legislators in 2009. Martinez was selected for his experience in Colorado election law.

Martinez is a part of Holland & Hart's white collar defense, litigation, election law and international practice groups. He focuses his practice at the intersection of law and politics, and his current clients include elected officials, political action committees, and businesses impacted by special elections. Prior to joining Holland & Hart, Martinez worked in the political arena promoting candidates and issues that dealt with social justice. Outside of the law firm, Martinez continues to remain active in the community as a board member for the Bell Policy Center and as a motivational speaker at local schools.
