Renewable Energy Transmission: Bridging the Gap

Thursday and Friday, March 18-19, 2010

Ritz-Carlton
1881 Curtis Street
Denver, CO 80202
(303) 312-3800

The U.S. is in a position to add more sources of renewable energy to the country's energy portfolio than ever before, and investment in renewable energy projects is on course to make it happen. However, these viable alternatives are only useful where they can be connected to the grid. Insufficient connectivity limits the renewable energy industry's potential to make a significant contribution to the country's energy supply and reduce our reliance on foreign energy. CLE International has gathered experts from around the country to address these issues and the solutions to our energy transmission challenges in Denver, Colorado this March.

The speakers will provide attendees with the latest information on current and anticipated efforts to improve and expand our electrical transmission network to facilitate access to sources of renewable energy. You will hear from various types of power organizations, Washington insiders, government leaders, financiers, planners and top attorneys in the renewable energy field. Included among this distinguished faculty are Holland & Hart attorneys Mark Safty and Stephen Masciocchi. Mr. Safty will discuss the condemnation, land use, permitting and regulatory oversight issues associated with development of high-voltage transmission lines in the western U.S., and Mr. Masciocchi will be making an ethics presentation on the concept of a multi-jurisdictional practice and the unauthorized practice of law. Other speakers will discuss grid configuration, current projects, legal issues, efforts to bring capital to transmission improvements, government initiatives, and more.

Who should attend: Private practitioners, in-house counsel, government employees, developers, planners, environmental professionals
