Form I-9 audits and worksite enforcement (now rebranded “labor exploitation”) actions continue to be the hot topic of the day. Now, with the advent of taskforces, Homeland Security Investigations, Wage and Hour, Immigrant and Employee Rights, a broad assortment of additional federal and state agencies are descending upon employers who fail properly to verify the identities and employment eligibility of their workers and ensure their staffing agencies and contractors are in compliance.
In addition, with offers of deferred action and employment authorization, employees are incentivized to cooperate in these investigations against their employers.
This webinar will outline current enforcement trends and show employers how to develop effective I-9 practices, how to perform internal I-9 audits and remediate any deficiencies, and how to reduce potential exposure against this new brand of enforcement activity.
