Boise, Idaho (May 26, 2010) – Holland & Hart is the co-recipient of the Idaho State Bar’s annual Pro Bono 6.1 Challenge Award for large law firms. This is the third consecutive 6.1 Challenge Award Holland & Hart has received.
The firm was selected by a panel that included Mayor Bieter, Federal Magistrate Candy Dale, Idaho Supreme Court Justice Roger Burdick, Fourth District Judge Ronald Wilper, and The Idaho Statesman Editor and Vice President Vicki Gowler. The panel evaluated candidates based on quality and quantity of pro bono hours, as well as the percentage of attorneys who participated in pro bono services. One hundred percent of Holland & Hart’s Boise attorneys participated in some type of pro bono activity from April 2009 to April 2010, averaging 86 hours per attorney.
Pro Bono time included representing a parent in a Hague child abduction case, clients with visa applications relating to the Violence Against Women Act, and churches and community organizations; drafting a Social Security Disability appeal; assisting with a variety of legislative matters; and serving on nonprofit boards.
