DENVER (December 7, 2005) - Holland & Hart LLP is pleased to announce that Michael Carrigan received the first annual Community Leadership Award from the Colorado Institute for Leadership Training.
Mr. Carrigan is an alumni of the Institute, graduating from the CILT program in 1996. He was presented the Community Leadership Award for his leadership on the University of Colorado Board of Regents. Since taking office in January 2005, Mr. Carrigan has been a vocal advocate for public higher education in the state of Colorado and has been interviewed by CNN, Fox News, The New York Times, The L.A. Times and numerous local media outlets. In giving the award, CILT also recognized Mr. Carrigan's previous work as a volunteer teacher in the Bronx, his commitment to serve in a convent in Bolivia, and his continued service to the underprivileged.
Mr. Carrigan is a member of Holland & Hart's Litigation Department with experience in complex litigation, insurance coverage, business litigation and white collar defense. Mr. Carrigan is also devoted to his community. He is currently serving out a six year term on the University of Colorado Board of Regents, for which he was elected in 2004. He is also a member of the Board of Directors for Easter Seals Colorado and the Latin American Research and Service Agency (LARASA), two of Colorado's largest charities.
