Mary York Receives Idaho State Bar 2019 Professionalism Award

Holland & Hart Boise Partner Mary York has been selected as one of this year’s Professionalism Award recipients by the Idaho State Bar (ISB).

The award is given to at least one attorney in each of Idaho’s seven judicial districts attorneys who has demonstrated a devotion to public service, the improvement of the administration of justice, and a career-long practice of civility, integrity, and dignity, setting a high-standard of professionalism. Mary will be presented with the award during the ISB’s “Roadshow” meeting in November 2019 and will be featured in the 2019 ISB Annual Meeting Awards brochure.

Mary’s legal practice focuses on real estate litigation, including eminent domain and construction cases, and general commercial litigation. As a former Deputy Attorney General for the Idaho Transportation Department, Mary gained broad experience in eminent domain cases and transportation- and construction-related matters. She now applies that experience to representing her clients, which include both governmental agencies and landowners alike, in condemnation disputes and other litigation matters. She is an experienced trial lawyer who helps her clients assess legal issues, evaluate resolution options, and achieve favorable outcomes.

In addition to her service to the legal profession, Mary dedicates significant time to legal and community organizations. She is a member of the American Inns of Court, Idaho Women Lawyers, and the Idaho State Bar Association’s Government & Public Lawyers Section and Appellate Section. She is a mentor with the University of Idaho/Federal Bar Association Mentorship Program and the Concordia University Mentorship Program. She serves on the Board of Advisors and Transportation Committee of the Boise Metro Chamber of Commerce, and is a former Walk Chair (2012-2013) and Family Outreach Volunteer (since 2014) with the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, among other associations and organizations. She is an AV-Rated Preeminent Lawyer, has been recognized by Chambers USA among America’s Leading Lawyers for Business in the area of General Commercial Litigation, and was a recipient of the Idaho Business Review’s Women of the Year Award (2016).
