Lainey focuses on litigation and federal regulatory compliance matters for energy clients.
Lainey represents clients in oil and gas litigation, with particular emphasis on royalty disputes, federal regulatory compliance, and appeals before administrative agencies. She regularly represents energy clients in complex litigation involving the Office of Natural Resources Revenue (ONRR), royalty payment disputes, federal lands compliance matters, and state and federal permitting matters.
Working with Representative David P. Joyce (OH-14) in Washington, DC on energy-related legislation and appropriations Lainey leverages the valuable insights gained from her experience with energy, environmental, and economic policy to guide clients through complex matters. Her experience includes defending clients in class action royalty litigation, responding to federal agency audits and investigations, and handling appeals before federal courts and administrative bodies.
Prior to joining Holland & Hart, Lainey participated in the firm’s Summer Clerk program and served as an intern for Honorable Judge Timothy Tymkovich and Honorable Judge Daniel Domenico at the U.S. District Court for Colorado.
