Joe Ramirez Recognized By Bar Associations

DENVER (January 26, 2007) - Holland & Hart attorney Joe Ramirez was elected as the Colorado Hispanic Bar Association's 2008 president and was also selected to attend the American Bar Association's Tort Trial & Insurance Practice (TIPS) Leadership Academy.

This year, as president-elect of the CHBA, Mr. Ramirez will serve on the Executive Committee, along with four other executives. He will meet with this committee each week to conduct CHBA business and will also work with the current president to insure that issues affecting Denver's Hispanic community are addressed. Such issues include increasing Hispanic admissions at local law schools, identifying Hispanic attorneys for consideration for judicial appointments, and reviewing proposed legislation affecting the Hispanic community.

In 2008, as president, Mr. Ramirez will act as a leader and spokesperson for the CHBA. He will attend events that impact the Hispanic community and will strive to further the CHBA's mission statement. He will also be responsible for building relationships with other bar organizations and increasing the CHBA's profile in the Colorado legal community.

Mr. Ramirez was also one of only 23 lawyers nationwide selected to attend the ABA's TIPS Leadership Academy. The ABA received more than 100 nominations for this academy, which is an intensive program designed to prepare attorneys for leadership roles in the legal profession, legal organizations, and the community at large. As a member, Mr. Ramirez will attend quarterly meetings, be appointed to leadership roles in TIPS committees, and have the opportunity to meet a wide variety of legal leaders.

Mr. Ramirez is an associate in Holland & Hart's Litigation Department. His practice focuses on business litigation with an emphasis in insurance coverage.
