Holland & Hart partner Jane Michaels has been selected as a Fellow of the College of Commercial Arbitrators (CCA). The CCA is an invitation-only association comprised of nationally and internationally recognized commercial arbitrators and promotes the highest standards of integrity, professionalism, and practice in the field of commercial arbitration. Michaels was inducted at the CCA 2017 Annual Meeting held on October 13.
The College admits Fellows who have distinguished themselves as commercial arbitrators and have a strong interest in furthering the mission of the College. The Membership Committee evaluates the nominee’s breadth and depth of experience as a commercial arbitrator, with particular emphasis on the nominee’s work as a commercial arbitrator in the previous 10 year period.
After more than 35 years’ experience litigating sophisticated business and technology disputes, Michaels now exclusively provides arbitration, mediation, and early neutral evaluation services. She is certified by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) as a mediator and arbitrator and serves on the AAA’s Complex Commercial Arbitration and Mediation Panels. Last year, Michaels was also selected for membership in the National Academy of Distinguished Neutrals. She understands how the escalating costs of litigation, particularly during the discovery process, impact an organization’s bottom line and business goals. Corporations, business executives, and their counsel benefit from Michaels’ ability to swiftly and critically assess IP and commercial cases and to offer pragmatic solutions, with the ultimate goal of avoiding a prolonged legal battle.
