Holland & Hart Partners Named Lawdragon 500 Leading Environmental & Energy Lawyers

Holland & Hart is pleased to announce that partners Jon Katchen and Tom Sansonetti have been recognized in the inaugural Lawdragon 500 Leading Environmental & Energy Lawyers guide.

The 2021 guide highlights leading U.S. lawyers “shaping the future of the environment and energy.” The 500 lawyers recognized in the guide represent the evolution of environmental law, including lawyers working for environmental organizations and in private law firms. Honorees were selected from journalistic research, submissions by firms and clients, and editorial vetting with environmental and energy law experts.

Jon Katchen, a partner in the firm’s Anchorage office, leverages extensive state government experience and sophisticated knowledge of Alaska's resource and economic development opportunities to help energy industry clients achieve their business goals. His practice focuses on natural resources project development, defense of governmental and citizen enforcement actions, and complex commercial litigation. He also counsels investors and resource development companies regarding economic development opportunities in Alaska.

Tom Sansonetti, a partner in the firm’s Denver, Cheyenne, and Washington, D.C. offices, is a longtime litigator and project team leader. Before a lawsuit can threaten a project, he counsels clients on how to develop effective plans of action that will meet government environmental permitting requirements and stand up to judicial scrutiny when those clients' projects are challenged in court. Tom served as an Assistant Attorney General for the Environment and Natural Resources Division in the Department of Justice and as the Solicitor at the Department of the Interior.

Holland & Hart’s nationally recognized environmental and natural resources team is one of the largest in the country at over 100 lawyers and is in the vanguard shaping policies and solutions that enable clients to operate successfully in the complex, ever-evolving, state and federal environmental regulatory framework.
