The publication spotlighted the firm’s arbitration win for client Level 3 Communications, a subsidiary of Lumen Technologies, in a dispute with BNSF Railway over the renewal terms of a long-standing railroad right-of-way agreement. The panel ruled in Level 3’s favor, finding that BNSF had not negotiated in good faith and rejecting BNSF’s counterclaims.
Commercial litigation partner Melissa Reagan, who led the trial team with co-counsel Butler Snow LLP, credited the firm's collaborative culture and depth of talent, noting, "One of the things that drew me to the firm is the quality of attorneys at the firm and the people, and then the ability to handle national matters with quite a deep bench. They just value teamwork, and that really set us up for success in this case."
Law360 also featured the firm's Colorado real estate practice and its role in major developments in Denver's Cherry Creek neighborhood. Real estate partner Heather Park Meek discussed advising developers on projects such as Cherry Lane, one of the largest developments underway in the area. Heather shared that "A lot of that activity happens on the front end with pre-leasing the project, bringing all the tenants in even before it's constructed,” and described working alongside developers, brokers, and asset managers from the earliest planning stages through construction to turn project plans into workable lease and development agreements.
The profile noted that energy and environmental work remain the firm’s largest practice area and pointed to its continued investment in intellectual property, private equity, artificial intelligence, and data center work.
