DENVER (October 5, 2005) - Holland & Hart lawyers, paralegals and staff raised more than $75,000 to assist the victims of Hurricane Katrina.
Beginning August 31, the Holland & Hart Foundation took the lead in challenging the nearly 700 attorneys and staff to open their hearts and check books to help those affected by the devastating hurricane. They were up to the challenge, and after a three-week fundraising campaign raised an average of more than $100 per employee to donate to a variety relief funds.
The largest contributions went to Habitat for Humanity and the American Red Cross, but Holland & Hart also gave to other non-profits such as Catholic Charities, Louisiana Veterinary Medical Association Dr. Walter J. Ernst Veterinary Memorial Foundation, the Salvation Army and the Mennonite Disaster Services.
"This outpouring of generosity and compassion for our fellow-citizens is a credit to this firm and shows the kind of spirit and heart which Holland & Hart has always had," said firm chairman, Paul Phillips.
The Holland & Hart Foundation was established in 1998 to carry on the firm's tradition of community service. Its mission is to build community internally, locally and globally through charitable and educational activities and programs with present and former lawyers, staff and their families through service to the communities of which they are a part.
