DENVER (June 3, 2008) - Holland & Hart attorneys Robert Bassett, Robert Connery, Jack Palma, Paul Schlauch and Lawrence Wolfe were named in The International Who's Who of Mining Lawyers. Both Schlauch and Bassett are included in the list of the most highly regarded individuals. The publication also states that the firm is home to "one of the best mining practices in the world."
Nominees for inclusion have been selected based upon comprehensive, independent survey work with both general counsel and mining lawyers in private practice worldwide. In the United States, only 53 attorneys were selected for this prestigious honor.
Bassett is an attorney in Holland & Hart's Denver Tech Center office and the current chair of the firm's minerals practice. His practice includes natural resources and international law with an emphasis on the mining industry. He is also chair of the International Committee of the Rocky Mountain Mineral Law Foundation.
Connery is an attorney in the Denver office who has practiced environmental law for more than 40 years. His practice includes environmental planning, permitting, and compliance work on major industrial and mining projects as well as environmental litigation.
Palma is a partner in the firm's Cheyenne office with more than 25 years experience in natural resource and environmental law, including extensive work in federal and state public land law, NEPA, environmental regulatory compliance and permitting, oil and gas, minerals, and water. He is a former natural resources deputy attorney general for the Wyoming attorney general's office.
Schlauch is a partner in the Denver Tech Center office and has more than 30 years experience in legal issues relating to the mining industry. He is a past president of the Rocky Mountain Mineral Law Foundation and the International Mining Professionals' Society. Who's Who also named him the "Lawyer of the Year" for mining worldwide for four consecutive years.
Wolfe is Holland & Hart's current managing partner and the past chair of the firm's natural resources department. He has 25 years experience in natural resources law and focuses his practice on administrative and regulatory advice and litigation and legislative matters.
