Holland & Hart Announces New 2019 Practice Group Leaders

Leadership Changes in Corporate and Real Estate, Finance, and Construction

Holland & Hart LLP today announced the appointment of new Practice Group Leaders (PGLs) for the firm’s Corporate and Real Estate, Finance, and Construction practice groups, effective Jan. 1. Lucy Stark of the firm’s Denver office fills the Corporate PGL role most recently held by David Garcia, a partner in the firm’s Reno office, who has served in the role for five years. Chris Gunlikson, based in the firm’s Boulder and Denver offices, will serve as the Real Estate, Finance, and Construction PGL. Mona Burton, a partner in the firm’s Salt Lake City office, led the group for more than three years.

Lucy Stark leverages her background in securities and capital markets to counsel public and private companies on a variety of corporate transactions from joint ventures to complex debt and equity financings, and other business combinations. Lucy’s sophisticated expertise strategically advising clients in a variety of industries with equity and debt financing and SEC compliance make her a go-to resource for public companies. Lucy has previously served in firm leadership roles as chair of the Energy Industry Group, the Securities Law Compliance Committee, and the Summer Clerk Committee.

Chris Gunlikson has a diverse real estate and finance practice. He specializes in serving clients at every stage of real estate development and finance, including mixed-use, multifamily housing development, resort, and hotel properties. Chris counsels local and national developers, investors, and lenders involved in all aspects of development and finance. Chris previously served as the Administrative Partner of the firm’s Boulder office.

“Lucy and Chris are both established leaders in their practice areas who have demonstrated a commitment to their colleagues, their clients, and to the future direction of the firm. We look forward to the continued success of these two practice groups under their leadership,” said Liz Sharrer, chair of the firm. “The firm thanks both David and Mona for their astute management, navigating their respective practice groups through changes to the practice of law and the legal marketplace. Both David and Mona supported the growth and development of practice group attorneys, fostering innovative ways to deepen connections with clients.”
