Holland & Hart Advises Clearway Energy Group on $685 Million Pine Forest Energy Center in Texas

Holland & Hart represented Clearway Energy Group (Clearway), a leading integrated clean energy company, and Clearway Energy, Inc., in connection with the construction of, and procurement of major equipment for, the Pine Forest Energy Center, located in Hopkins County, Texas. In 2024, Clearway Energy, Inc. entered into an agreement to invest in the project upon commercial operations, and the project has now been brought online.

Pine Forest includes 300 megawatts (MW) of solar generation and a 200 MW battery energy storage facility, representing a $685 million investment in reliable, low-cost clean energy. The Pine Forest Energy Center will generate enough electricity to power more than 100,000 homes and store low-cost electricity to dispatch when it is needed most.

Pine Forest is backed by long-term virtual power purchase agreements with Dell Technologies and Universal Corporation. The construction created approximately 480 jobs and was led by Blattner Energy.
