Holland & Hart, the largest law firm based in the Mountain West, recently added 29 attorneys to its office in Salt Lake City. The office now has nearly 80 attorneys, making it one of Utah’s largest firms. Most of the new attorneys are in the natural resources and litigation practice groups, but the tax, employment and corporate practices were also expanded.
Holland & Hart’s growth in Salt Lake City is a product of the firm’s long-standing policy to deliver the best service to our clients in the region and to those whose business brings them to the Mountain West. “We have found that Salt Lake City is a very solid center for business—we strongly believe in its future,” said John Husband, chair of the firm’s management committee.
The firm has long been a powerhouse in litigation, energy and natural resources. With this expansion, Holland & Hart was able to attract some of the finest attorneys in the region whose capabilities add substantial depth and breadth to the firm’s practices in oil and gas, water law and climate change. Jody Williams, one of the firm’s new partners and a distinguished water lawyer, is excited to practice with new colleagues at Holland & Hart. “I’ve collaborated with Holland & Hart lawyers on some of the most important matters in my career. Another of the firm’s new partners, Mark Buchi, a past chairman of the Utah State Tax Commission, finds the firm’s large footprint provides a wonderful opportunity for the tax lawyers at Holland & Hart to better serve clients across the region. “Those of us joining the firm had a strong state and local tax practice in Utah,” he said. “Now we have colleagues in Colorado and elsewhere in the firm that complement our strengths.
