Holland & Hart is proud to announce that for eleven consecutive years the firm has been awarded U.S. Gold Standard Certification from the Women in Law Empowerment Forum (WILEF). This year, 29 U.S. law firms and 10 U.K. firms achieved 2021 Gold Standard Certification. Holland & Hart is one of only six firms to receive this recognition every year since WILEF began the award in 2011.
WILEF grants Gold Standard status to law firms in the U.S. with more than 300 practicing attorneys and 100 or more attorneys in the U.K. that meet objective criteria concerning the number of women among equity partners, in firm leadership positions, and in the ranks of their most highly compensated partners. This year, Holland & Hart is one of nine firms to have met all six criteria.
For 2021, U.S. Gold Certification was awarded to firms that met both of the following mandatory criteria:
- 25% of equity partners or, alternatively, 40% of the attorneys becoming equity partners during the past 12 months are women
- 10% of women equity partners are women of color or 4% of women equity partners are LGBT
and at least two of the following four criteria:
- 20% of the firm and U.S. branch office heads are women
- 25% of the firm’s primary governance committee are women
- 25% of the firm’s compensation committee or its equivalent are women
- 20% of the top half of the firm’s equity partners in terms of compensation are women
“Holland & Hart has been adopting creative solutions to help support women lawyers for many years,” said Phyllis Wan, Holland & Hart’s Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer. “The firm implemented work-life balance policies and practices such as reduced hours and flexible-work options in the 1970’s and 1980’s long before they were commonplace. Those policies, combined with a continued strategic focus on including women in leadership roles and promoting women to equity partnership, provide role models of diverse leadership for the next and future generations.”
