Hi-Tech Hub Breakfast Series: Best Practices for Complying with the TCPA

Salt Lake City, UT
Texting Customers: You're Doing it Wrong! Best Practices for Complying with the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA)

Over the past decade, there has been an exponential rise in the number of lawsuits filed under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), and the potential cost of failing to comply with the TCPA has never been higher. Enacted in 1991 to combat aggressive telemarketing and advertising believed to invade consumer privacy, the TCPA also affects legitimate business communications. As more information is communicated to consumers via phone and text message, remaining TCPA compliant is increasingly important.

In this seminar, we will provide an in-depth look at the TCPA and how it applies to communications with customers, as well as approaches for mitigating the risks of litigation. Please join us for a presentation that will help you:

  • Understand the TCPA’s purpose, terminology, consent requirements, and potential damages
  • Explore TCPA litigation trends, including important recent decisions
  • Gain insights into the TCPA’s exemptions and the types of calls covered by the exemptions
  • Identify best practices for minimizing TCPA liability
