Health Law Basics Webinar - Identifying and Responding to HIPAA Breaches

The March 1 deadline for HIPAA breach reports is rapidly approaching. The HIPAA Omnibus Rule changed the standard for breach reports. Identifying reportable breaches and taking prompt action may help avoid breach reporting or mitigate liability. In this free webinar, Kim Stanger will discuss what covered entities and business associates need to do to comply with the standards and minimize exposure for penalties, including:

  • How to apply the new breach notification standard.
  • What is and is not a reportable "breach".
  • You've just discovered a potential breach: what should you do now?
  • Conducting your own internal HIPAA investigation.
  • Responding to OCR inquiries.
  • Minimizing liability for breaches before breaches occur.
