DENVER (March 2, 2006) - Holland & Hart LLP is pleased to announce that Robert T. Connery, Paul D. Phillips, James A. Holtkamp, and Michael J. Brennan were named leading attorneys in The International Who's Who of Environmental Lawyers.

Mr. Connery is a partner in the firm's Denver office and has practiced environmental law for the last 37 years. His experience includes environmental planning, permitting, and compliance work on major industrial and mining projects and environmental litigation. His practice has covered regulatory matters such as air and water quality requirements, solid and hazardous waste requirements, reclamation, historic preservation laws, threatened and endangered species laws, and fish and wildlife coordination.
Mr. Phillips has practiced environmental law and litigation for 29 years, and is currently Chair of the firm's Management Committee. He has experience working with EPA enforcement actions under the Clean Water Act, Superfund proceedings, Environmental Impact Statements for new projects, and detailed "permit letters" outlining all state and federal environmental laws and regulations applicable to new projects. He also has extensive experience representing companies in soil and groundwater contamination and “toxic tort” cases, and related cases under the Clean Water Act, RCRA, and Air Act enforcement actions.
Mr. Holtkamp is the Manager of the firm's Environmental Compliance Group and a partner in the firm's Salt Lake City office. He has actively represented industry and government clients in various environmental, natural resources and project development issues. In particular, Mr. Holtkamp has been extensively involved in mining, oil and gas and public land matters, including uranium mining and milling. He has also been actively involved in air pollution control, groundwater cleanup, contaminated property, radioactive and hazardous waste, and greenhouse gas mitigation issues on behalf of industry and government clients throughout the United States and in Europe. Mr. Holtkamp is currently the President of the Rocky Mountain Mineral Law Foundation.
Mr. Brennan is a partner in the firm's Jackson office, and was the most highly nominated lawyer listed in Wyoming. He has been active in the environmental and natural resources field since 1983. He has broad experience with all aspects of the Endangered Species Act and the National Environmental Policy Act and their application to natural resource development activities. He also has worked extensively with the Migratory Bird Treaty Act and the wildlife and natural resource conservation provisions of other environmental and public land laws. From 1989 to 1993, Mr. Brennan served as the Executive Assistant to the Director of the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service within the Department of the Interior.
