"Enforcing Arbitration Awards in Colorado" – Practical Law – Jane Michaels

Jane Michaels, an experienced certified mediator and arbitrator, recently authored “Enforcing Arbitration Awards in Colorado” in Practical Law, a Thomson Reuters legal resource. The article is a “Practice Note” that explains the procedure for confirming an arbitration award in Colorado and the grounds on which a party may challenge enforcement under Colorado and federal law, including the Federal Arbitration Act (FAA), the New York Convention on the Recognition and Enforcement of Foreign Arbitral Awards, and the Colorado Uniform Arbitration Act. It also briefly explains the procedure for vacating, modifying, or correcting an arbitral award in Colorado.

After more than 35 years' experience litigating sophisticated business and technology disputes, Jane is now devoting her time to providing arbitration, mediation, and early neutral evaluation services. She is certified by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) as a mediator and arbitrator and serves on the AAA's Complex Commercial Arbitration and Mediation Panels. She was recently honored to be selected for membership in the National Academy of Distinguished Neutrals.
