Employment and Immigration Law - What to Expect under the New Trump Administration

Holland & Hart Boise Office

Thursday, December 12, 2024

8:30 - 9:00 AM: Registration, Networking, and Breakfast

9:00 - 10:00 AM: Presentation

Employers should prepare for a significant shift in regulatory and enforcement priorities under a second Trump Administration.

It’s likely the use of a taskforce model will increase, involving coordination among multiple federal and state agencies that may target employers in specific industries.

Join us as we outline what employers need to expect and steps they can take now to prepare for a heightened enforcement environment, including:

  • Employment law trends
    • Fair Labor Standards Act audits and investigations
    • Citizenship and national origin discrimination claims
    • Prescreening job applicants and rescinding offers of employment
    • Wage Claims Under the Idaho Wage Claim Act
  • Immigration law trends
    • I-9 audits and worksite enforcement actions
    • Increased scrutiny and delays with legal immigration benefits
    • Revocation of existing humanitarian programs (e.g., Temporary Protected Status, Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, etc.)
    • Onsite reviews and investigations into immigration practices and required recordkeeping processes

CLE credit for the state of Idaho is pending for this program - HRCI credit is also pending. SHRM credit has been approved.

Kindly RSVP by December 10.
