Holland & Hart represented Colorado-based aerospace firm Deep Space Systems, Inc. (DSS) in connection with its acquisition by private equity firm AE Industrial Partners, LP (AEI). DSS is a leader in space systems engineering supporting the design, development, integration, testing, and operations of science, technology, and exploration spacecraft. AEI specializes in aerospace, defense & government services, power generation, and specialty industrial markets. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
The transaction will enable AEI to combine DSS with Adcole Space to form Redwire, a next- generation space technology platform focused on designing and developing mission critical systems and high reliability electronics in support of innovative space architecture. Redwire will combine the capabilities of both DSS and Adcole Space to form a unique and exciting participant in the rapidly growing space industry.
