DENVER (November 17, 2009) - The National Federation of Paralegal Associations (NFPA) has selected Holland & Hart's Debra Hindin-King as the organization's 2009 Paralegal of the Year.
The Paralegal of the Year award is given to an individual who exhibits extraordinary commitment and contributions to the expansion of the paralegal profession with the paralegal's employer, legal community and public service.
Holland & Hart's Litigation Department Chairman Scott Barker said, "For those of us who have had the privilege of working with Debbie, this honor comes as no surprise. She is a consummate professional."
Among her many accomplishments, Hindin-King has been a litigation paralegal for the past 21 years. She is involved in in-house training for new attorneys and support staff and prior litigation paralegal representative on the firm's paralegal committee. She has also been involved in several litigation matters including the review and production of eDiscovery data.
Hindin-King has also served in various leadership roles with the Rocky Mountain Paralegal Association (RMPA) and currently is the RMPA liaison to the Colorado Bar Association/Paralegal Committee. She previously served as the Region II Director on the Board of NFPA and currently serves on the Strategic Planning Committee. She received the RMPA's 2004 Pro Bono Paralegal of the Year, 2006 Minoru Yasui Award for outstanding volunteer commitment and service in Denver and most recently recognized in 2009 as ParalegalGateway.com's "Paralegal Superstar."
Hindin-King is a frequent speaker at both local and national conferences on topics including technology, trial preparation and the utilization of paralegals. She is also a frequent contributor to local and national trade publications providing articles to related to technology and eDiscovery.
