8:15 - 9:15 The Reality and Status of Climate Change Regulations Affecting Construction and Real Estate Development (David Zimmerman, Holland & Hart)
In response to the growing trend toward green and sustainable design, the Obama Administration and many states are pressing forward with regulation that will affect construction and real estate development. This session will describe the current status of these regulations and the legislative efforts in Congress.
9:15 - 10:15 Evolving Development Considerations for Real Estate Owners-Challenges, Changes, and Risks (Marc Painter, Holland & Hart)
As design standards continue to evolve and climate change regulation and legislation progresses, how will these factors impact the real estate development considerations, both short- and long-term? What challenges and opportunities will it create? This session will explore the impact of these changes.

10:30 - 11:30 LEED v. 3 Standards, Climate Change and Regulation (David Zimmerman & Melissa Orien, Holland & Hart)
LEED v. 3 has rapidly become the standard for construction of new buildings. This session will explain the interaction and differences between LEED v. 3 and impending regulations.
11:30 - 1:00 Lunch & Keynote Presentation
The State of Utah's Efforts to Implement Sustainable Building Practices (Chamonix Larsen, LEED AP, Associate Energy Program Director, Utah State Division of Facility and Construction Management (DFCM))
Ms. Larsen will speak on the current efforts of the DFCM to manage renewable energy projects and performance contracts, the implementation of high performance building standards, LEED certification of DFCM projects, and the State of Utah's participation in the National Governor's Association Policy Academy for Advanced Energy Strategies for Buildings.
