DENVER (November 18, 2005) - Holland & Hart LLP is pleased to announce that Carol Warnick was elected to the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC).
Ms. Warnick is Of Counsel in the firm's Denver office and also practices in Utah and Wyoming. She is an AV Rated attorney who concentrates her practice on estate and wealth transfer planning and administration. She represents executives of public companies, owners of closely-held businesses, and families of significant wealth. She has published a number of articles discussing estate planning topics, including two recent articles on the topic of IRS attacks on family limited partnerships and family LLCs.
"The American College of Trust and Estate Counsel is a prestigious national honor which reflects Carol's preeminence and long experience in the trust and estate bar," said firm chairman Paul Phillips.
The American College of Trust and Estate Counsel is a highly respected professional association with only about 2,500 attorneys nationwide. Attorneys cannot apply for membership in the College. Instead, new members must be nominated by Fellows in their region, approved by Fellows in each state they are licensed to practice, and elected by the membership at large. Fellows are selected on the basis of professional reputation, ability in the fields of trust and estates and on the basis of having made substantial contributions to these fields through lecturing, writing, teaching and bar activities.
The purposes of the College are to maintain an international association of skilled trust and estate lawyers, to improve and reform probate, trust and tax laws and procedures, to bring together qualified lawyers whose character and ability contribute to the College, and to cooperate with other organizations with similar purposes.
