Clean electricity exports are expected to be a major driver of the British Columbia economy in the future. This seminar brings together top experts to examine the opportunities and challenges in the export market. Substantive topics include: the current status of cross-border energy transactions; B.C. policy initiatives to encourage the development of new renewable and green energy resources; U.S. demand for Canadian electricity; U.S. renewable portfolio standards; the role of natural gas in electricity markets; who is buying green electricity in the US; Canadian and U.S. export regulatory issues and the development of cross-border markets. The government of British Columbia is introducing policies and legislation that will ensure that British Columbia remains a leader in clean and renewable energy by developing B.C. resources, maximizing B.C.'s opportunities and establishing B.C.'s potential as the supplier of choice for clean power.
