Holland & Hart Helps Renewable Energy Systems (RES) Americas Secure Vestas Wind Systems Turbines for New Wind Projects

Holland & Hart LLP is pleased to announce that RES Americas, a leader in the development and construction of wind and solar projects in North America, has entered into agreements with Vestas Wind Systems to purchase 60 megawatts (MW) of wind turbines.  Under the agreements, RES Americas may ultimately purchase up to 610 MW of wind turbines.

Holland & Hart tax attorney Adam Cohen provided counsel to RES Americas regarding the federal Production Tax Credit, an incentive which was instrumental in the deal’s success.

To qualify for the credit, which provides a $23 per MW hour tax benefit for the first 10 years of a wind farm's operation, construction must begin before the end of 2013.
