Holland & Hart Teams with Nonprofit to Refurbish Community

Holland & Hart Teams with Nonprofit to Refurbish Community
On Friday, June 27, attorneys, staff, and friends of Holland & Hart, including the firm's Denver-based summer clerks, teamed with Brothers Redevelopment to paint the home of Tom and Mildred Lopez, a local couple who said that after 40 years in the house and two paint jobs under their belts, they "just couldn't do it anymore."

"I'm pretty excited, and I think this is the nicest thing anybody could do," Mrs. Lopez said.

The event was organized through the Denver Committee of the Holland & Hart Foundation in conjunction with Brothers Redevelopment, a local nonprofit organization that provides housing and a variety of housing-related services for the region's low-income, elderly, and disabled residents.

According to Nate Page, a Holland & Hart associate and member of the Denver Committee of the Holland & Hart Foundation, "It was a pleasure to work with Brothers Redevelopment and to help contribute to the invaluable work the organization performs for qualified residents in Colorado. Both the Foundation and the firm pride themselves on community involvement and realize the vital importance of committing not only funding, but also the time and energy of our constituents into improving the lives of the less fortunate in our communities." Page went on to say that the group was touched by the gratitude Mr. Lopez expressed to them at the end of the work day when he had the chance to see his freshly painted home.

The Holland & Hart Foundation promotes the human side of community service by creating ways for the firm's extended "family" to help others in need. In addition to lawyers offering their professional services on a pro bono basis, firm members also do "non-legal" charitable and civic work in the firm's communities.
