Holland & Hart LLP is proud to announce three of its Boise attorneys were recognized by the Idaho State Bar in its 2013 awards series:
Walter Bithell,
Scott Randolph and
Scott Hess.
Bithell was honored with a 2013 Distinguished Lawyer Award. The Distinguished Lawyer Award recognizes Idaho lawyers who have “distinguished the profession through exemplary conduct and civility, devotion to clients, contributions to the pursuit of justice, and unselfish public service benefiting the citizens of Idaho.” It is the highest award that can be bestowed on an Idaho attorney by the bar. Bithell is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and is currently listed as the Boise Bet-the-Company Litigation Lawyer of the Year for 2013 by The Best Lawyers in America®. He has more than 40 years of trial experience counseling clients with respect to business and commercial litigation, construction litigation, individual and class action tort litigation, products liability, professional liability and general litigation.
Randolph was named the 2013 Outstanding Young Lawyer. The Outstanding Young Lawyer Award represents the bar’s gratitude for commitment to the legal profession through unselfish contribution of time and resources, to benefit Idaho lawyers and the public. Randolph is a board member of the United Way of Treasure Valley and has served as a volunteer attorney for the Court Appointed Special Advocate program, working on behalf of neglected and abused children. He was honored among the 2013 “Accomplished Under 40” by the Idaho Business Review. He represents clients facing complex business disputes and employment litigation, handling a range of matters involving commercial contracts, licensing agreements, trade secrets, non-compete agreements, disability discrimination, sexual harassment and wage and hour issues.
Hess was recognized with a 2013 Professionalism Award. The Professionalism Award represents an expression of respect and commendation from the recipient’s professional peers, and represents one of the highest honors any Idaho lawyer might receive during his or her career. The award is given to attorneys who, by their professional and personal conduct, have exemplified for the members of the legal profession the epitome of what it means to be a lawyer, and who, by so doing, have brought honor and distinction upon themselves and the professional as a whole. Hess represents clients in many areas of commercial litigation, with an emphasis on complex business disputes. He has presented numerous appellate issues to the Idaho appellate courts and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
