Docketing Manager

The Docketing Manager (DM) has immediate leadership responsibility for the civil litigation docketing team and their performance of the intake process and calendaring of events in the litigation docketing system for stored documents received from the U.S. District Court filings (ECF), state court docketing items and any internal docketing requests. This position also has general oversight responsibility for all other docketing needs within the firm. This position also monitors court sites for changes in the filing process and may assist in the training process for processing both USDC filings and state court filing receipts.

• Manager with general oversight responsibility for the litigation docketing team. 

• This position will coordinate the schedules and day-to-day operations of the litigation docketing group, including both direct (Denver based Docketing Specialists) and indirect reports (regional office Docketing Specialists). 

• As it relates to state court docketing and in order of process, the DM: a) oversees the specialists’ receipt of the state court docketing receipt or the case team docketing request via email to docketing team mailbox; b) ensures the docketing specialist saves the documents to the appropriate N: Drive location; c) adds any associated docketing events to the CompuLaw Vision application; d) generates a docketing report for case team review, verification and approval and; e) then moves filing receipt or docketing request and team notification email to appropriate matter folder.

• As it relates to the management of the litigation docketing team and in order of process, the DM: a) is responsible for assisting the Director with personnel decisions on the litigation docketing team; b) is responsible for the performance and cohesion of the litigation docketing team; c) delegates and approves the performance of  administrative tasks by the litigation docketing specialists; d) holds regular meetings with docketing specialists, both individually and as various groups.

  • The DM must be able to work: with minimal supervision, in a high volume, intellectually repetitive environment while maintaining a high attention to detail, and must also understand the sensitivity on the timeliness of the processing of the files and calendaring of events.
  • JD - This is a non-practicing attorney role; however, the need to review and interpret court rules is a must.
  • Proven leadership, communication and management skills a must.

Applications Manager

The Applications Manager leads the team responsible for the analyzing and evaluating of current and projected core and non-core applications; advises groups on how to improve workflow through the exploitation of new and existing technology.

Basic Function:

1.) Applications Management:

Working in tandem with other members of the Office of Innovation, the Applications Team performs needs assessment and fact gathering for new applications within the different Practice Groups in the Firm. Makes recommendations for consolidating applications where appropriate and also find further use of existing technologies across practice groups.

As a part of the Information Technology Department, assist with the installation of new and updated applications, and oversee the maintenance of existing core and non-core applications. Assist with scheduling system downtime in advance for both recurring and non-recurring maintenance activity.

Evaluate new versions of the applications and recommend upgrades as appropriate. Oversee the installation of upgrades and patches to those applications to ensure data integrity and reliability.

Troubleshoot and research application/system-related issues, taking appropriate actions to resolve issues (contacting technical support or software vendors, etc.) including the tracking of all issues. Inform the director of escalating situations associated with applications.

2.) Administrative Groups

Help administrative departments with improvement of work through the use of technology.

3.) Systems Management

As a part of the Information Technology Department, assist with the management of client and/or case specific data storage, extranet files, electronic document repositories, electronic processing files and SQL databases.

Assist with the maintenance of on-going closed case archival processes, data migrations from legacy drives to consolidate data storage, and work with the SQL Database Administrator to manage case specific databases.

In conjunction with Infrastructure Manager, maintain server operating system for various systems like iManage and Aderant Expert.

Provide after-hours support as needed.

4.) Extranets

Oversee the creation and maintain of new and existing extranets for the Firm, including new requests, granting permissions, setting up folders, user accounts and the organizing of data.


The successful candidate will have a minimum of five years’ experience evaluating, implementing and supporting applications in a legal/services environment in various practice groups. Experience managing accounting systems, BI, CRM, HRIS, and other enterprise level systems is a must. Must also have experience managing non-core types of applications in practice area web-based and client/server applications including, tax and estate applications, business applications, document assembly (i.e. Contracts Express), docketing and familiarity with legal applications (i.e., Relativity, Concordance, Case Notebook, CaseMap) are a must. The candidate must also be comfortable interfacing with attorneys, paralegals and support teams in the practice groups, as well as firm-wide administrative departments. The successful candidate will have a strong technical aptitude and understanding; ability to quickly learn new applications. Good organizational skills and the ability to problem solve where a precedent may not exist. Project management skills and ability to take ownership of projects and responsibilities are also key.

The Applications Manager needs to have strong computer skills, Microsoft SharePoint knowledge, MS SQL knowledge, and be a self-starter with strong communication skills. Must have the ability to effectively lead a team and communicate technical concepts to non-technical people. Four-year college degree or equivalent experience is required.

Billing Specialist

Responsible for processing client bills using full knowledge and understanding of accounting software, including electronic billing and third-party vendor sites.  Provides assistance to attorneys and secretaries to ensure accurate time and disbursement entries and completes all billing to meet established deadlines. Part-Time Office Services Assistant (Runner)

Responsible for internal and external deliveries, mail processing, stocking supply rooms and kitchens, facilitating setup and cleanup of conference rooms, and maintaining orderly appearance of the offices during working hours. May also perform receptionist duties when needed.

  • Will be responsible for external walking and driving deliveries, including filing or delivering legal documents to various courthouses, delivering and/or pick up of documents from other businesses or residences, obtaining signatures on documents, and may be required to notarize documents, if commissioned. May also travel to neighboring cities, including occasional trips to Carson City or others as required.

  • Will be responsible for internal deliveries, including retrieving the mail from the post office and the building mailroom, date stamping and distributing the mail, pickup and delivery of internal interoffice mail, applying correct postage and delivery of outgoing mail at end of day.

  • Receive tasks through Outlook or verbally for conference room setups and cleanups.

  • Pick-up of lunch orders for both internal employees as well as meeting participants from local restaurants.

  • Maintaining the cleanliness and supplies in kitchen and coffee areas, including loading dishwashers, rinsing coffee pots, refilling coffee, tea, and condiment bins, cleaning microwaves and refrigerators, and stocking inventory of drinks and other kitchen supplies.

  • Retrieving and emptying recycling bins in each office and at various places within the office.

  • Distributing paper throughout the office for printers and refilling copiers as needed.

  • Fill in for receptionist duties, including answering telephones and greeting clients.

Records Clerk

Patent Docketing Specialist
