Immigration Project Assistant

BILLABLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Work with a dynamic energetic team and our high-tech, healthcare, and global clients on their immigration challenges. Work with clients to gather necessary information and documentation required, monitor status of cases, ensure professional and prompt client communication regarding each case. Draft support letters, affidavits and/or any other necessary documents for the particular type of visa. Respond to Request for Evidence (RFE), upon receipt. Types of visas include, but are not limited to H-1B, B-1 and B-2, L-1, PERM cases, marriage based visas I-130, adjustment of status I-485, and N-400.

NON-BILLABLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Copy petitions/applications, scan documents and put on the N drive, file organization, Tracker immigration software input, and case meetings with attorneys.

Records Technician

The Records Technician performs standard records management tasks in the Records Services Center (RSC), such as responding to new on-line file requests by establishing physical files, filling user file requests from on-site and off-site, checking files in and out, boxing and prepping files for shipment to the off-site storage facility, assisting users with questions, and running reports as needed.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Learns or has a knowledge of the Firm’s records management software.
  2. Performs all records procedures in accordance with documented standards and procedures.
  3. Interfaces with the user community in a professional manner and responds to requests for active files, inactive files, or records management questions in a timely fashion.
  4. Reviews and makes necessary recommendations, on a regular basis, for change to the written RSC standards and procedures used throughout the Firm.
  5. Assists in the development of new training documentation, standards, and procedures.
  6. Performs other RSC tasks as time allows, for example, audits and special projects.

Requirements:
  1. Three years of experience in the field of records management, legal preferred.

Billing Specialist

Holland & Hart is seeking a Billing Specialist who is responsible for processing client bills using full knowledge and understanding of accounting software, including electronic billing and third-party vendor sites. The position provides assistance to attorneys and secretaries to ensure accurate time and disbursement entries and completes all billing to meet established deadlines. The position provides assistance as needed to management and to the Client Accounting team.

Requirements:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepares and handles all aspects of billing for specified attorneys and/or clients as assigned.
  • Assists attorneys and staff with billing questions.
  • Works directly with clients relating to their billing guidelines, e-billing setup, and any other billing questions or issues.
  • Processes various time, disbursement, and billing reports for attorneys, staff and clients.
  • Reviews client intake memos for billing guidelines, e-billing requirements, billing rates, client and contact information and verifies that all data is updated in client and e-bill databases.
  • Assists the Client Accounts Supervisor with researching client credit and trust amounts, account reconciliations and other research projects.

Job Qualifications

Technical Support Analyst

The technical support analyst will manage the support for all end user computing hardware, software, and networking equipment.   • Front-end focused engineers - core fluency in fundamental web development technologies including JavaScript, CSS, HTML5, and AJAX. They should also be familiar with common web development frameworks including JQuery, AngularJS, React, and Vue.js
  • Data science focused engineers – experience with Python and core data science tools (e.g., scikit-learn, torch/tensor flow). Understanding of machine learning techniques and algorithms, such as sequence-to-sequence models, conditional random fields, k-NN, Naive Bayes, SVM, Decision Forests, etc. is a plus.

Data Protection Officer

The Data Protection Officer will report to the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) and has responsibility for creating and implementing privacy strategy, policy, controls and procedures. Maps Firm’s data elements and controls for entry, use, storage, disclosure, retention and destruction. Conducts Privacy Impact Assessments (PIA’s) that assess compliance with applicable legal, regulatory and client requirements. Works in conjunction with the CISO to integrate privacy breach response within Firm incident response procedures. Requires routine coordination with organizations external to the Firm. This position requires a very broad knowledge of information technology verticals, the ability to quickly ascertain both security and privacy controls, and the ability to positively influence others to implement controls.

Requirements:
  • Manage the Firm’s GDPR and US (federal and state) privacy compliance implementation and keep the program compliant with changing privacy laws.
  • Identify, document and manage privacy risk. Communicate risks to the CISO, Loss Prevention partners, attorneys and staff.
  • Manage and respond to client audits and assessments to ensure the Firm’s privacy program meets client expectations.
  • Develop and manage a process for controlling vendor and other third-party privacy risks within compliance standards.
  • Develop and maintain information privacy policies, procedures and standards.
  • Oversee the evaluation, selection and implementation of privacy solutions that are innovative, cost-effective and minimally disruptive.
  • Continuously promote and train the Firm regarding privacy principles, processes and procedures for maintaining compliance.
  • Orchestrate assessments to ascertain the Firm’s systems, processes and personnel are compliant with privacy requirements.
  • Capable of performing as a lead on one or more phases of medium-complexity projects.
  • Competency emphasis in Integrity & Confidentiality.
  • Must be collaborative, creative, and driven, with a proven ability to be a team player.
  • Ability to work closely with security to bridge the security and privacy programs.
  • Able to think strategically, develop solutions quickly and implement efficiently.
  • Understanding of budgets and business planning related to privacy.

  • Must effectively prioritize work and projects, and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Legal experience preferred but not a requirement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s in information technology, information systems, computer science or computer engineering preferred, or other bachelor’s degree with relevant information technology and information privacy experience.
  • 8 years IT experience plus minimum 8 years privacy compliance experience with privacy laws and standards such as HIPAA, GLBA, GDPR, HITRUST and Fair Information Practice Principals
  • Minimum of one advanced security or privacy certification: CISSP, CIPP, CIPM, CIPT, CISA, CISM, and CGEIT.
  • 4 years experience developing information privacy policy that meets industry standards such as HIPAA, GLBA, GDPR, and HITRUST with at least one GDPR program implementation completed.
