Shane focuses his practice on commercial litigation and intellectual property law, leveraging his background in engineering to approach his cases with a technical understanding on which many of his clients rely.

Shane's commercial litigation practice includes intellectual property, bankruptcy, employment, construction, real estate, class actions, and other commercial disputes. He also counsels clients on intellectual property transactions, including matters involving employment issues, patents, trademarks, trade secrets, and copyrights.

Shane assists clients in a wide variety of pro bono matters, including several cases brought under the Hague Convention and other child custody disputes.

He has represented clients before Montana state and federal courts, federal appellate courts, the Montana Supreme Court, the United States Patent and Trademark Office, and administrative agencies.
