Stephen counsels clients through the complexities of business disputes to achieve favorable outcomes.

With clients ranging from Fortune 500 companies to local entrepreneurs, his experience includes breach of contract allegations, product liability claims, fraud, FTC compliance, False Claims Act, and intellectual property litigation. Stephen represents companies in a variety of industries, including outdoor products, cosmetic manufacturing, and energy and natural resources.

Prior to private practice, Stephen was Assistant General Counsel at Basic Research LLC where he managed product liability claims, FTC compliance, and all aspects of company litigation.

Client Results

Representative Matters
  • Assisted in representation of an electric utility in a two-week arbitration dealing with long-term power contracts and cogeneration facilities with claims in excess of $300 million.
  • Assisted in representation of a large pharmaceutical company in a Fraud and False Claims Act case brought by the State of Utah against 17 pharmaceutical companies. The case was dismissed with prejudice.
  • Assisted in representation of an international shipping company in a two-week jury trial regarding breach of contract claims in excess of $50 million.
  • Represented a large cosmetic company against trademark infringement and false advertising claims in the amount of $350 million. The case was settled on very favorable terms for our client.
  • Represented a well-known outdoor apparel manufacturer in seizing counterfeit products and enforcing trademark rights.
