Susie represents clients on a variety of environmental compliance, litigation, and enforcement issues, with an emphasis on air quality issues.

Susie brings experience in environmental litigation, from research and discovery to pre-trial motions and trial preparations. She also brings experience in the field of environmental regulations and compliance. She has experience with federal programs involving the Clean Air Act, Endangered Species Act, CERCLA and various state-level programs

Prior to joining Holland & Hart, Susie gained valuable perspective during several work experiences with nonprofit environmental organizations.

Experience

  • Advises clients on state and federal compliance requirements for major and minor sources, including New Source Performance Standards (NSPS) and Maximum Achievable Control Technology (MACT) standards for hazardous air pollutants (HAPs).
  • Performs legal research and analysis for clients—primarily in the mining, oil and gas, and industrial sectors—that are subject to state and federal air enforcement issues, or citizen suits.
  • Develops strategies for clients navigating the complex regulatory state. For example, she drafts comprehensive comments on proposed EPA rulemakings, like the National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS).
