While it may seem far off to a young lawyer, we feel that it's important to know now about the firm's commitment to our attorneys having full and balanced lives outside the office.
The idea of taking a break to renew your professional juices is ingrained in our culture. While other firms have sabbatical programs on paper, ours is different. We don't just talk about sabbaticals - our lawyers actually take them. Each partner takes three months off at full pay every five years throughout the course of his/her career. And, the firm recently added a new program for non-partners - after 12 continuous years with the firm, attorneys can take a six-week sabbatical every seven years.
The reward of sabbatical isn't just experienced by the partner who takes time to unplug. When a partner leaves her practice for three months, she knows that her clients will be supported with excellent service by attorneys at every level, including associates. This collaborative team approach is ingrained in our culture and guides how we work with and serve our clients.
