John Shepherd and Garry Kaufman Named Among DBJ's Who's Who in Energy 2015

Partner John Shepherd and Of Counsel Garry Kaufman have been named to the Denver Business Journal’s Who's Who in Energy 2015 list.

Now in its fifth year, the Who's Who in Energy supplement profiles the Denver metro area’s key players in the energy industry. A joint project with American City Business Journals publications in five the Denver Business Journal’s list was released in the paper’s Nov. 27 issue and included more than 500 business leaders across multiple industries and states. A VIP reception honoring the professionals selected for the 2015 Who's Who in Energy list is scheduled for Dec. 3 at the Brown Palace Hotel & Spa in Denver.

John Shepherd specializes in resolving disputes for oil and gas and mining clients. He handles litigation in virtually all aspects of the energy industry, including disputes over royalty payments, operating agreements, property acquisitions, gas measurement, gas balancing, and indemnity claims, and challenges to permits to conduct operations on public lands. He also represents clients in administrative appeals before the U.S. Department of the Interior, the U.S. Forest Service, and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), including challenges to penalties imposed by the Office of Natural Resources Revenue and the EPA.

Garry Kaufman’s practice focuses on Clean Air matters, advising clients in a wide variety of industries regarding air quality policy, rule development, permitting requirements, administrative enforcement actions and appeals, and litigation at both the state and federal levels. With his extensive experience in State air quality policy development and implementation, he is uniquely positioned to help clients strategically plan and protect the operation and growth of their businesses. In addition to his comprehensive knowledge, clients also benefit from his relationships with a broad array of public and private stakeholders including representatives of the oil and gas and mining industries, federal land managers, environmental groups, the United States Environmental Protection Agency, and additional state and federal agencies.
