Jennifer Jensen Selected as an Idaho Women Lawyers 2019 Rising Star

Congratulations to Holland & Hart Boise attorney Jennifer Jensen for being selected as one of two 2019 recipients of the Idaho Women Lawyers, Inc. (IWL) Rising Star Award. This award honors women within the first seven years of practice for their contributions to the legal community and who appear to be on a path toward even greater accomplishment.

Jenn was honored with this award for her “commitment to professional excellence and community engagement.” The IWL cited Jenn’s role in the American Bar Association, the Idaho State Bar, and Idaho Women Lawyers. IWL was particularly impressed with Jenn’s involvement in the organization’s effort to amend the Idaho ethics rules to prohibit discrimination, demonstrating her leadership and commitment to the betterment of the legal community in Idaho. Colleagues commented, “Jenn holds herself and others to high ethical standards and embodies the best of civility in the practice of law, and she has earned the respect of her colleagues through her efforts.” In addition, “She is a leader amongst her peers and is universally admired by her colleagues for her determination, keen legal mind, the kind and thoughtful manner in which she treats others, and her commitment to improving the legal profession.”

In her litigation practice, Jenn assists clients with disputes involving breach of contract, business torts, employment discrimination, wage and hour, and other commercial claims. Through defending clients in a number of class action and collective action lawsuits, Jenn has significant experience in certification and other class- and collective-action issues.

In 2015, the Idaho State Board of Commissioners, via a nomination process, appointed Jenn as Idaho’s first Young Lawyer Delegate to the American Bar Association (ABA). As a Young Lawyer Delegate, Jenn is a member of the ABA House of Delegates, which considers and adopts new policy resolutions related to the legal profession. Jenn was reelected to this position in 2017 for a second two-year term.

Jenn will be honored at IWL’s Celebrating Women in the Law Gala on March 13. The Gala is held biennially and recognizes achievements of outstanding women, men, and entities in Idaho’s legal community.
