Holland & Hart’s Jason Crow Receives DU’s Ammi Hyde Award for Recent Graduate Achievement

Holland & Hart’s Jason A. Crow (JD ’09) is the recipient of the University of Denver’s Ammi Hyde Award for Recent Graduate Achievement. Named in honor of the beloved professor from the late 1800s, the award is presented to a DU graduate of the last decade who has demonstrated notable professional achievement in his or her field.

“Jason is a model of leadership and service. His generosity in teaching and mentoring our students – particularly those who are veterans – is a tremendous gift to our students, our graduates, and our school,” says Martin Katz, Dean of University of Denver Sturm College of Law.

In his legal practice, Crow helps clients conduct internal corporate investigations and navigate and respond to government investigations and ensuing litigation. He is an adjunct professor of law and serves as an alumni council member at DU’s Sturm College of Law. Before becoming an attorney, Crow served three combat tours in Iraq and Afghanistan as a U.S. Army Infantry captain with both conventional and special operations units. Crow was awarded the Bronze Star for meritorious service during the invasion of Iraq. He believes strongly in mentorship and personally mentors young veterans transitioning from military to civilian life.

Crow speaks regularly on leadership and public service. Notably, in 2011 he was the keynote speaker for the Daniels Fund New Scholars Celebration, and he was honored to speak at the Democratic National Convention in 2012. He has served as a member of the Colorado Board of Veterans Affairs, and he is currently a member of the Denver Symphony board of trustees, the Denver Police Foundation board of directors, and the advisory board for Phoenix Multisport

Crow’s outstanding service has been recognized by legal, business, and volunteer organizations. He was named Denver Bar Association Volunteer Lawyer of the Year in 2010, received the Outstanding Service Award from the United Veterans Committee of Colorado in 2011, the Catalyst for Change Award in 2012, selected as a Denver Business Journal Forty Under 40 in 2013, and was named a Rising Star in 2013 and 2014 by Colorado SuperLawyers®.

Crow will be recognized together with other University of Denver honorees at the 2015 Founders Day Gala which will feature two new student awards and highlights of the University’s research initiatives. Held annually on March 5, the anniversary of its founding, Founders Day toasts the many ways in which members of the DU community lead, innovate, and transform students’ passion into purpose. This year’s event will be held at the Wings Over the Rockies Air & Space Museum.  For more information, visit here
