Holland & Hart Receives Pro Bono Award by Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada

Holland & Hart is proud to announce it received the 2019 Lied Award for most pro bono hours donated by a law firm by Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada. Lied Awards are given in recognition of the Lied Foundation Trust, recognizing firms and individuals who excelled in their pro bono efforts. The award was presented at the 19th Annual Pro Bono Awards ceremony in December.

The firm’s Las Vegas office was recognized for donating more than 1500 hours of pro bono legal services over the past year to individuals, non-profits, and other Nevada organizations, including providing counsel to the Volunteers in Medicine of Southern Nevada free clinic; Children’s Attorneys Project, that offers advice and representation to abused and neglected foster care children; immigration cases; consumer cases; and participating in the Ask-A-Lawyer program and counseling, to name a few.

Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada commented online that Holland & Hart “consistently makes pro bono an integral part of their culture and identity.” They added on Facebook, “[b]ased on the number of attorneys in this office, this firm far exceeded Nevada’s aspirational goal of 20 pro bono hours per attorney, per year. Holland & Hart is well deserving of the 2019 Lied Award for Most Pro Bono Hours by a Law Firm.”

The following attorneys in the firm’s Las Vegas office were included in the 100 Hours Club, for providing more than 100 hours of pro bono legal services throughout the past year:

  • Connie Akridge, partner - healthcare
  • Gian Brown, partner - corporate
  • Robert Cassity, partner - commercial litigation
  • Sydney Gambee, associate - commercial litigation

The Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada is a nonprofit law firm dedicated to providing direct legal representation, counsel and advice and community legal education to those who cannot afford an attorney.
